About RMHC

Each Ronald McDonald House is owned and operated by a local RMHC Chapter and only works due to generous supporters like you. The majority of their programming funds come from individuals and local organizations and businesses.

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom or dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

The Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. When a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

Our Contribution

The developer of Flight Crew View, Robert Murray, and his family have a long-standing relationship with Ronald McDonald House near Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL. They have helped raise money over the years and volunteered at the house in order to help families stay near their children that are hospitalized across the street.

In October, 2015, Robert ran the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in support of Ronald McDonald House. Flight Crew Apps, LLC pledged to match all donations made by Flight Crew View users, and together, we raised over $2,700! We are proud to support such a worthy cause and are pleased to see that the large group of runners this year raised over $1.1 Million for RMHC! That's enough to cover over 14,000 nights for families around the world to stay near their hospitalized children.

How can you help?

Aside from monetary donations or individual volunteering, there are many other ways that you can help out! Are you a good cook? Do you have a green thumb? Are your kids involved in any after-school groups that might be interested in volunteering by making cookies at the house? There are plenty of opportunities to help out those families who are stuck away from home with their hospitalized children. Check out the link below for more information!
